1. Rules:
The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2025-2028, the relevant class association rules for the competing boats, and the Sailing Instructions. Sailing Instructions will be distributed to registered boats.

2. Eligibility and Entry:
POK competitors may be any class of sailboat. The entry form is included with the Notice of Race.

3. Anticipated/Proposed Classes:
Based on the registrations received, the fleets will be confirmed on 15 September 2025.

Catalina 22 Gold Fleet:
If three or more C22s enter the regatta in the C22 Gold Fleet, they will race as the C22 Gold Fleet.

Catalina 22 Silver Fleet:
If three or more C22s enter the regatta in the C22 Silver Fleet, they will race as the C22 Silver Fleet.
1. This fleet is open to skippers without a C22 Gold Fleet first-place trophy in a Catalina 22 State, Regional, or National Championship regatta.
2. If less than three C22s enter the C22 Silver Fleet, then those C22s will race in the C22 Gold Fleet.

MC Scow Fleet:
If three or more MC Scows enter the regatta, they will race as the MC Scow Fleet.

Flying Scot Fleet:
If three or more Flying Scots enter the regatta, they will race as the Flying Scot Fleet.

NOR 2025 POK Open/Handicap Fleet:
If three or more boats, not in other fleets, enter the regatta, they will race as the Handicap Fleet. This fleet will be scored using the Portsmouth handicapping system.

4. Races:
Five races are planned, with three on Saturday and two on Sunday. Weather
conditions may dictate otherwise. One race constitutes a regatta.

5. Scoring:
The Low Point System, RRS A4, will apply with all races counting towards the fleet finishing results. No score will be excluded. This changes RRS A2.

6. Awards:
Trophies will be awarded to each fleet’s first, second, and third place finishers in each fleet.

7. The Courses:
The courses will be windward/leeward with an offset mark and leeward finish for all fleets. All fleets will use the same start and finish line designated by the Race Committee Chairman.

8. Schedule of Events:
All times given below are preliminary. Check at registration for any updates. All times are for the Central Daylight Time Zone.

Friday, 3 Oct 25
o At Noon, the DSC gate will open for early arrivals. Earlier arrival may be arranged. If you need to arrive after 2000, please make arrangements for someone to open the gate.
o 1630 – 1900 Welcome Party at the pavilion. Pizza served. BYOB.

Saturday, 4 Oct 25
o 0800 – 1000 Breakfast (provided for skippers and crew)
o 0800 – 1000 Registration and launch boats
o 1000 – Welcome and skipper’s meeting at Pavilion
o 1130 – Warning signal for the first race of the day. No race starts after 1600.
o 1730 - 1900 music, race day discussions, and hamburgers and hot dogs - BYOB.

Sunday, 5 Oct 25
o 0700 – 0900 Breakfast (provided for skippers and crew)
o 0930 – Warning signal for the first race of the day. Weather permitting, more than one race may be held.
o Approximately 1300 - Awards presentation at Pavilion

9. Cost Information:
Entry Fee: $75 prior to 14 Sept. 25; $90 on and after 14 Sept. 24
The fee includes the skipper and crew Saturday and Sunday, Skipper’s SWAG, and Skipper’s Friday evening dinner. Dixie Sailing Club is a USSA member club. USSA members may show their current membership card and receive a $5 entry fee discount.

Crew Dinner: $10 each
Crew Swag: $25 each

Pre-orders before September 14th are recommended.

10. Venue:
The regatta will be held at the Dixie Sailing Club, 767 New Hope Church Road, Alexander City, AL 35010. Go to www.dixiesailingclub.com or any map application for directions.

11. Food:
1. Lunches will NOT be provided explicitly on Saturday or Sunday.
2. Saturday Night – Dinner will be provided for boat skippers. Please register if you have a crew or guest who would like to join the dinner.
3. Saturday and Sunday Mornings – A continental breakfast will be provided.

The food headcount will be based on registrations before 30 Sept, so please registerearly. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE THE NEEDED FOOD! So, keep in touch!

12. Lodging:
o The club is located about eight miles SSE of Alexander City, AL.

Registration this year may be accomplished in any of four ways, with NOmoney required to be sent before checking in at the club.
