Set Sail with Us at Dixie Sailing Club
Where Racing, Cruising & Community Come Together
Located on the scenic shores of Lake Martin, Dixie Sailing Club (DSC) is a private, member-driven sailing club dedicated to promoting the joy, skill, and sport of sailing in all its forms. With an active membership of 60–80 sailors, our community is united by a shared passion for both cruising and racing sailboats.
A Racing Tradition, All Year Long
At DSC, competitive sailing is at the heart of our club. We host weekly club races most Saturdays from March through November, and maintain a vibrant schedule that includes:
-
One-design racing fleets: Catalina 22, Flying Scot, Thistle, and MC Scow
-
Special events: Long-distance races, regattas, and invitational events
-
Handicap racing: Open to all boats using the Portsmouth Yardstick system
We’re proud to be home to Catalina 22 Fleet 96, one of the most active in the country with 25 boats — including a two-time Gold Fleet National Champion and several high-performing regional and national competitors.
Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or just looking to sharpen your skills, our racing program offers a fun, supportive, and challenging environment to grow your abilities.
Cruising & Social Sailing
Our cruising activities are open to all boat types and include day sails and overnight adventures, perfect for those who enjoy the more relaxed side of sailing. Throughout the year, you’ll also find social events, club gatherings, and a few “open” events that welcome the wider Lake Martin community.
A Welcoming, Active Community
DSC offers much more than just great sailing—it’s a place to connect, learn, and build friendships. Nearly every weekend brings a new opportunity to get involved, whether you're racing, crewing, cruising, or just enjoying time at the lake with fellow sailors.
