Club Moving to New Hope

    Club Moving to New Hope

    6/22/2012
Dixie Sailing Club will be leaving its present residence Labor Day 2012 and moving to a new location near the New Hope Church area.

Plans are being made to develop the property during the fall and winter in stages.
Interim plans are to continue sailing activities from an alternative location on the lake and move into our new location by late spring 2013.

Dixie Sailing Club has been in their present location since 1961 carrying on racing, and cruising activities, as well as developing sailors who are nationally ranked in the sailing world. As we all know, over time all things change, and big changes are coming to Dixie Sailing Club.

Due to Russell Lands Corporations plans to develop Rattle Snake Ridge, Dixie Sailing Club will be leaving its present residence and turning a new page in the life of the club. With assistance from Russell Lands we are excited about moving to a new location on Lake Martin and continuing our love of sailing.

Plans are currently being made to develop property toward the North end of the lake near the New Hope Church area. Development will be in stages starting with road, ramp, and boat storage area first on the agenda. Although we have plans of building a clubhouse for activities, our first goal will be to construct a pavilion.

The current location will be officially closed immediately after Labor Day this year. Interim plans are to continue sailing activities from an alternative location on the lake and move into our new location by late spring 2013.
